One Man Who Could Explain Budget With Simplicity – Nani Palkhiwala

Standard
Suppose if our Finannce Minister is asked to explain his budget to an illiterate villager, will he be able to do in a simple and brief language?

I doubt.

There was a man named Nani Palhiwala. He was a lawyer. But he was passionate about need to explain “What Budget Mean for all of us?”. It was a matter of concern for him that we should all be able to understand implication for our budget to the country.

Because, it is the Budget that shapes our future.

“Money is the Root of All Good”. Ayn Rand said in one of her books.I think those who want to do some good for the country, must repeat above statement atleast 1000 times.

No good is possible without money. Budget is all about money.

Budget is a horoscope drawn by Finnace Minister to show from where the money will come and where it will go.

It does not take into account Black Money and Fake Currency. Because these two are uncatchable thives who sip away our hard earned wealth.

How we look at budget?

Here, we means common man like you and me. We do not understand technical terms and implications of budget..

But we know following things for certain:

1) It will drill a hole in our pockets. We will be poorer by the evening.

2) It will hit hard to those who get fix salaries.

3) Income Tax examption limits will rise.

4) Income Tax will be payable more by High Income Bracket Groups.

5) Tax burden will be less on things which foreign conpanies wish to sell in India.

6) Tax burden will be more on people who manufecture such things in India. (So that the cannot compete with foregn sellers who want to sell their products to India.)

And then, there will be political ,Corporate  and Coalition Govt. Accommodations.

7) They want something to be added in budget in return of Corporat Election Funds

8) and Political Supports. They have to be accomodated.

9) Then, Finnance Minister has to consider effact of Budget on voters, if mid term polls are declared.

10) Then, If FDI issue is also required to be given green signal.

As Soon as Budget is declared

Opposition Political Parties, will term Budget as “Disappointing and anti-Aam Admi”

Pro-Governments will say the it “Far Sighted and Most Realistic Budget”

Who will clarify?

But who will clarify all these issue independently, impartially and in an easy to understand language?

Today, Late Nani Palkhiwala is not with us.

Today we need such a visionary most.
