This is a Story. But story has no intention to undermine struggle of Anna Hazae.. The story  has no intention to ridicule political parties who oppose Anna Hazare. The story has also no intention to hurt feelings of any Lion living in forests of Gir who may be reading this blog.

Some times, poets and authors, create imaginary stories to resolve real disputes.

This is one such a story. I clarify that I am neither on side of Anna nor on Side of UPA. I am on side of people of India who want to see early resolve to the disputes so that the nation can focus on better issues.

Here is the STORY


In a Jungle, election was held to decide who shall ride on a Lion.

UPA Government won election.

As agreed earlier, The Lion was kind enough to let UPA government ride on its back.

Things went smoothly for some time.

Then People felt that the Lion was guilty of huge corruption.

Then Anna came with a stick in his hand and he demanded two things from UPA.:-

1) Put this Lion in a cage called Jan Lokpal Bill.
2) If you cannot put Lion in cage, climb down from Lion and resign.

UPA Government replied to Anna, “If we climb down from this Lion, the first thing Lion will do will be to eat up all of us. So we cannot accept this option.”

Regarding your second demand to put Lion of Corruption in Jan Lokpal bill, let Government first ascertain wishes of Lion.

The Lion, flatly refused to enter in to Cage of Jan Lokpal Bill.

UPA Govt then decided to use some deceptive technique. It prepared some cage like LokPal Bill and asked Lion to get inside this Lok Pal Cage.

It explained to Lion, that this Govt,Lokpal Bills opens from inside. For the time being you just get inside it so that Anna can be satisfied. Later whenever you feel like coming out, just open cage from inside and walk out and start corruption as usual.

The Lion liked this idea, It agreed to walk into Govt, made Lok Pal Bill.

Then UPA went to Anna and said, look, Lion of corruption has agreed to go inside this Lok Pal bill, so you should withdraw your movement,

Anna said what is the use of this Govt, LokPal bill which the Lion can open any time from inside? We reject your bill.

Government tried to persuade, “Why don’t you first let this stupid Lion of Corruption to go in this weak Govt lokpal bill?

Once it gets in cage, we will lock it from outside. In this way we will cheat Lion. We will save our lives also and you will get Lion of Corruption permanently locked in cage which opens from inside but can be locked from outside also. Your purpose is served. 

UPA Govt asks Anna, “Haven’t you read Panchtantra Stories of Polictics?”

Anna consulted all his friend except Justice Hegde, and rejected suggestion of  Govt,

Anna is told that, before 2014, election, we will take written assurances from candidates about promise to pass JanLok Pal Bill.

But such pre-election promises have no value. A case was filed against then Prime Minister P.V.Narsimah Rao, for breach of pre-election promises. The case was dismissed,

Moral is : If before 2014 election, even if all candidates give in writing that they will pass Jan Lok Pal Bill, such writings have no value in eye of law.

UPA Govt and Anna Team, should see if there is some solution in ancient Panchtantra Stories.
