She represented State of Gujarat.
I was on behalf of a convicted prisoner.
We were waiting for the case to be a called out.
Suddenly a message came in her mobile.’
Her Father had just died in Baroda.
She could have left court.
But instead, she continued to sit in court till case was called.
This inspired me.
That evening, I wrote following poem.
A Buzz in Cell Phone of A Lady Advocate of Supreme Court
She waitedimpatiently
For her case to becalled
In a court which wasrather slow
Oh ! A buzz in hercell phone!
She came out fromcourt
And pushed button ofher phone
To hear what thecaller has to say
Voice was not clear
Someone was sobbing
At other end
‘Your father haspassed away’
The voice finallycame clear
‘Your father haspassed away’
The voice finallycame clear
A sob went down
Before it came out
This was no time tobreak down
Her case was about tobe called out
An convicted prisoner was decaying in jail
Since ten long years
And was flapping hiswings fervently
To came out from thecage
They must not weep
till the case is called
She told her eyes
The heart must notsob
till case is called
She told her heart
till the case is called
She told her eyes
The heart must notsob
till case is called
She told her heart
The case was over in two hours
And she flew home byevening plane
But not without
firstreaffirming
Higher values of thisprofession
Which makes thisprofession
Highest of all
