It is well known that one of the many roles of Supreme Court is “Role of Problem Solving”.

It is different that Appellate Jurisdiction or Original Writ Jurisdiction.

If you look at some path breaking orders passed by Supreme Court in last three months, you may find that the orders are partly judicial, partly executive and partly legislative. The three jurisdictions are combined and balanced in these orders passed under Art.142.

These orders are good material for law students who may be trying to focus on Constitutional Law.

Years ago, I remember to have heard the then Justice J.S.Verma, during a hearing in Court No 3, that “Extra ordinary times call for extra ordinary orders.”

Covid-19 period is extra ordinary period.

I wish that the Courts will be lenient in hearing applications for condonation of delays filed in various courts in the country, as the clients and their lawyers, both are passing through tough times.
